The Jamaica Hurricane Relief Soccer Initiative is a community recovery project led by ESO Soccer Inc. in partnership with The Bridgeview Foundation Inc. to support the rebuilding and revitalization of the Maryland district in Jamaica following hurricane damage. Scheduled for March 24 – April 1, 2026, the initiative uses the power of sport to bring communities together while restoring critical recreational infrastructure for youth and families.

This initiative will provide safe recreation spaces, youth mentorship, and long-term community infrastructure improvements that will benefit local children and families for years to come.  It centers on soccer as a tool for recovery, connection, and long-term community development. Activities include restoring a damaged soccer field, hosting a youth soccer camp for local players, building a permanent community bus stop shelter, and organizing community events such as FIFA World Cup watch parties. These efforts aim to uplift community morale while creating lasting improvements that will benefit residents long after the program concludes.

A six-person volunteer team from ESO Soccer, including experienced coaches, support staff, and media personnel, will travel to Jamaica to work alongside local volunteers and Bridgeview Foundation leaders. Together they will lead field restoration efforts, run a youth soccer camp serving approximately 32 local players, provide equipment and training, and help organize community gatherings that celebrate Jamaica’s deep football culture.

In addition to youth programming, the initiative includes community infrastructure improvements, such as constructing a covered bus stop shelter and providing tools, supplies, and safety equipment necessary for field cleanup and restoration. The project also includes media documentation to share the story of the community’s recovery and the impact of the initiative with partners, sponsors, and supporters.

The total estimated cost of the initiative ranges from $22,000 to $30,000, covering equipment, infrastructure improvements, youth programming, volunteer travel, logistics, and community events. Sponsors and partners may support the initiative through financial contributions, equipment donations, or by funding specific program components.

Ultimately, the Jamaica Hurricane Relief Soccer Initiative is designed to create both immediate and lasting impact by restoring safe recreational spaces, empowering youth through sport, strengthening community connections, and providing tangible improvements that will serve the Maryland district for years to come.
